Some stories remind us that love, passion, and purpose can all come together in one journey. This is one such story of Dinusha and Prabin, a couple who are exploring the true beauty of Nepal, one road trip at a time.

Dinusha and Prabin -Australian Base camp
Meet Dinusha and Prabin, a married couple who are on a mission to explore the beauty of Nepal not through trekking or flights, but through road trips. Popularly known as ghumante_budabudi on social media, their story is not just about travel it’s about following your heart, breaking societal expectations, and living life on your own terms.
Dinusha was born and raised in India, but her ancestral home (purkheuli ghar) is in Gorkha, Nepal. Though she spent 26 years in India, Nepal always felt like home. She speaks fluent Nepali and visited Nepal almost every year.
Prabin was born and brought up in Kathmandu. His purkheuli ghar is in Sarlahi. With over 10 years of experience in the banking sector, he had a stable and secure job. But like Dinusha, he always had a deep love for adventure and traveling.
Their story started in a simple way they were introduced through a common cousin. From their very first conversations, they realized they had many things in common, especially their love for nature and travel. That connection quickly grew into love, and soon they got married.
But what makes their story special is not just how they met it’s what they chose to do after marriage.
After getting married 2.5 years ago, Dinusha and Prabin started going on short weekend bike trips. They would ride together to nearby places, take in the views, and escape the stress of city life. But the more they traveled, the more they realized this wasn’t just a hobby. This was their true passion.
Over time, they started exploring more remote places. Today, they’ve already visited 50+ destinations in Nepal and covered 27 out of 77 districts, all by road. They haven’t done any treks yet everything they’ve seen so far has been on two wheels. From quiet villages to scenic highways, they are constantly amazed by Nepal’s hidden beauty.
While living in Delhi, Dinusha worked in top companies after completing her MBA from Delhi University (SRCC). She had a bright corporate career in digital marketing. But her love for Nepal and nature made her take a bold decision she left her job and moved to Pokhara to pursue content creation full-time.
Prabin, who holds an MBA from King’s College, Kathmandu, continues to work full-time in banking to support their journey. This balance allows them to keep exploring while still managing their responsibilities.
Together, they started a YouTube channel and began sharing their travel stories under the name ghumante_budabudi. Their videos are filled with raw, real, and beautiful moments from different parts of Nepal.
Their journey hasn’t been without challenges. In our society, it’s still rare to see a married couple constantly traveling. People often question their choices why are they always on the road? Why did Dinusha leave her stable job?
Convincing their families and dealing with social pressure has been tough. But they stayed strong. They knew what they wanted. They trusted each other. And most importantly, they believed in their dream.
Creating content is not as easy as it looks. Dinusha had to learn everything filming, editing, scripting, and connecting with the audience. She is also working to bridge the cultural gap between her Indian upbringing and Nepali content, making sure their stories feel local and relatable.
Prabin, while working full-time, helps whenever possible whether it’s planning routes, shooting videos, or simply being the perfect travel partner. Every trip, every video, every comment from a follower is part of their growth.
Their Message to the Youth
Dinusha says:
“If your heart tells you to create, just start. Even if you don’t know how, your instincts will guide you. Don’t let society decide your path. Be bold. Be curious. Be free. And especially for girls don’t give up your choices. If you don’t choose your life, someone else will do it for you.”
Together, they say:
“To every Nepali thinking of going abroad give Nepal a chance first. Travel, explore, feel this land. You might find peace here in ways you never expected. Nepal is more beautiful than we realize. We just need to feel it, not just see it.”
