DJI NEO 2
The DJI NEO 2 was launched in September 2025, and I purchased it immediately after release. Over the past three months, I have taken this drone on multiple adventures across Nepal, flying it in challenging conditions, high altitudes, and strong winds. One of the most remarkable experiences I had with the DJI NEO 2 was flying at high altitudes. I took it to Kalinchok Village (3,842 meters above sea level), and it performed flawlessly. The drone’s wind resistance allowed it to handle level 5 winds, which would have made many other drones unstable.
Even at high altitudes, the 2-axis mechanical gimbal stabilized my shots perfectly, preventing shake from strong gusts. I also flew the DJI NEO 2 in Mustang, where wind speeds were high, and it still produced smooth, cinematic footage.
Flying Across Nepal
Beyond Kalinchok, I used the DJI NEO 2 in Ghandruk, Pokhara, and several other locations. Each area presented different challenges:
Pokhara: Wind gusts threatened to destabilize the drone, but the mechanical gimbal ensured smooth footage.
Mustang: The drone handled high-altitude winds and cold conditions without any malfunctions.
Kalinchok: Flew above 3,800 meters and returned safely, proving its reliability.
However, because of the battery limitation, I had to plan my flights carefully and avoid extending the distance beyond 2,500 meters, even though DJI advertises 10 km.
